In this feature on Knowing Our members, we have sis Janelle interviewing bro Will. Bro Will is from the Philippines and the youngest of 4 siblings. He placed membership with us at the start of the year and will be with us until his graduation from Four Seas College at the end of the year.
What are you currently studying?
I’m currently pursuing my biblical studies at Four Seas College.
Why did you pursue this area of study?
I want to deepen my knowledge of the Bible for me to effectively contribute better to the Lord’s work.
How do you usually like to spend your free time?
Listening to music and singing.
Would you describe yourself as an outdoor or indoor person?
50/50, just in between.
How did you come to know Eastside COC?
From sis Mary Ann, my classmate in FSC.
What do you like most about being in this congregation?
I like the warm environment wherein brethren are approachable and easy to talk with.
Who is your favorite Bible character? What is the trait you admire most about this character?
Apostle Paul, his dedication to the Lord was evident in his passion and love for the works he did for the glory of God. He persecuted Christ in the beginning but did the right thing after being convicted that Christ is God.
What is your favorite Bible verse? Why is this verse meaningful to you?
Psalm 23:1-6, This has been my favorite passage since I was 7 years old. It gives comfort to me that whatever happens, I know my God is my Shepherd for there is goodness and mercy in my life. I trust that He is enough for me.
Which area of ministry are you most passionate about?
Singing and organizing fellowship activities that engage “getting to know my brethren more”.
How do you see yourself contributing to Eastside COC in this area?
I see myself leading songs to the best of my abilities.
What is your biggest weakness?
Drawing.
What is your biggest strength?
I’m not sure what’s my biggest strength for now.
What is your secret talent? Has that helped you in any way in your life?
I can do magic tricks, which helps me to be exposed to people as well as interact with them while I’m performing.
